Hello again, its been a while…. sorry!
I’m writing this whilst I am sat in bed, watching netflix in my hotel room in Singapore. I feel like I’ve been crazy busy over the last week as it was my 21st birthday (of course you have to celebrate the whole week of your birthday, right?)
Anyway, I wanted to write a diary entry for the day I turned 21 and let you know what I got up to!
It was all a surprise as to what I was going to be doing on my actual birthday but my cousin was spending the week with me in London and I was having a party the day after so I was more focused on those thing than the actual special day! Anyway, the night before my birthday my mum told me we were going to Paris! Yes! Paris!! I was soooo excited as I hadn’t been for a few years and well, who doesn’t get excited about going to Paris for the day?!?! We were getting the Eurostar at 9:30am from St. Pancras Station which I had never been on before and I would highly recommend it to anyone (especially if you don’t like flying). It’s so easy to get to and gets you to paris in about 2 hours!
Th day started at around 6am as we had to leave my house at 8am but because I was so excited, it didn’t bother me! Had the usual but essential cup of tea whilst getting ready and then I saw that I had presents! I wasn’t expecting anything nor did I want to get anything as Paris was a huge present anyway! But…I only opened a few before we left which were ones that I could wear because who doesn’t love a new birthday outfit! Anyway, after getting ready and arriving at St. Pancras, I was greeted by my grand parents and my brother who were coming along with us, which was another surprise! I was so so shocked that they were coming and this made the whole day even better!! ( I don’t get to see them very often) so after all the hugs and kisses, we gather our things, go through security, get onto the train and off we go to Paris!!
I don’t think I have mentioned this but we were literally going for lunch and a quick walk around before coming back to London as my mum wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted to do in the evening. We eventually arrived into Paris after a few rounds of Rummikub (this is a card/number game my family have started to play) and jumped onto the metro to go to Bastille. If you know the tube, you can work the metro out as well! My mum had booked a table at an amazing brasserie called Bofinger – if you are looking for any where to eat in Paris, I highly recommend this place, the food is so tasty and its not too expensive either which is a bonus! They also gave me a glass of champagne to celebrate!🍸
After we had finished lunch we walked along the streets of Paris, past the Notre Dame and The Louve before heading back to the Eurostar. I really wanted to see the Eiffel Tower but we didn’t have time…I guess I will have to go again 😄!!
After playing a few rounds of Rummikub again with my mum, cousin and my nan, we eventually arrived back at St. Pancras. The grand parents went to get the train home and we got the tube back and went for a glass of wine in the local pub!
I didn’t want the day to end but like they say… all good things come to an end! I had the best day ever and was so spoilt, I was so so happy that I could spend the day with my family!!
Hope you enjoyed reading about my 21st birthday adventure!
